This 5 day Social Zanzibar holiday is designed for travellers who want more than a resort experience. You stay in Paje, one of Zanzibar’s most active beach areas, with restaurants, cafés, beach spots and activities close by. Rather than filling every day with organised excursions, the itinerary gives you time to explore Paje, enjoy the beach, discover places to eat and meet other travellers, while adding a few selected Zanzibar experiences.
You will also have opportunities to experience Blue Lagoon, Jozani Forest, Salam Cave and one of Zanzibar’s well known sunset spots at Kae Funk in Michamvi.
Why We Plan Zanzibar Differently
A good Zanzibar itinerary is not simply a list of the island’s most popular excursions.
Where you stay affects how practical those experiences are. We therefore plan accommodation and activities together, considering travel times, pickup locations and the amount of time you actually have on the island. For example, we would not normally place a Nungwi stay alongside an early morning activity in Kizimkazi simply because both are popular.
If your priorities include experiences in different parts of Zanzibar, we may recommend changing accommodation location during your stay.
This can mean less time in the vehicle, fewer unnecessary transfer costs and more time enjoying Zanzibar

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Settle into Paje
Arrive in Zanzibar and meet your driver for your private transfer to Paje.
Check into your hotel and take the rest of the day to settle in.
Depending on your arrival time, you can walk along Paje Beach, explore the surrounding area, find a café or restaurant, or simply relax at your hotel.
There is no scheduled excursion today. Your first evening is a chance to start getting a feel for Paje and discover some of the places around you.
Overnight: Paje
Day 2: Paje Beach, Local Exploration & Kae Funk Sunset
Start the day with time on Paje Beach.
This is deliberately unstructured. Walk along the beach, enjoy the ocean, try a water activity or simply find a comfortable place to spend the morning.
During your beach exploration, you can also choose to visit Mwani Zanzibar, particularly if you are interested in wellness and a different experience beyond the beach.
Later in the afternoon, return to your hotel and get ready for the evening.
Your driver will then take you to Kae Funk Sunset Beach in Michamvi, approximately 30 minutes from Paje, where you can enjoy the sunset, beach atmosphere, music and drinks.
This is not treated as a formal sightseeing excursion. It is simply one of the places we recommend experiencing during your Social Zanzibar holiday.
After sunset, return to Paje for the evening.

Day 3: Blue Lagoon Snorkeling & Social Exploration in Paje
Today begins with a Blue Lagoon snorkeling experience.
Spend time in the water, explore the lagoon and enjoy one of the area’s well known snorkeling experiences before returning towards Paje.
The rest of the day is intentionally free.
Instead of adding another organised excursion, use the afternoon to explore Paje for yourself. Walk around the village, spend more time on the beach, visit a café, find somewhere for lunch or simply see where the day takes you.
One place we recommend checking out is Mr. Kahawa Café & Restaurant, located directly on Paje Beach. It is a good place to stop for coffee, lunch, fresh food or a drink while enjoying the beach atmosphere.
You can then continue exploring Paje or return to your hotel whenever you feel like it.
Overnight: Paje
Day 4: Jozani Forest & Salam Cave
Today takes you beyond Paje to experience another side of Zanzibar.
Visit Jozani Forest and then continue towards Salam Cave.
Jozani introduces you to Zanzibar’s natural environment, while Salam Cave offers a very different experience, with its natural cave setting and opportunities to see the resident sea turtles.
After the day’s experiences, return to Paje.
Keep your final evening open. Choose a restaurant you discovered during your stay, return to a favourite beach spot or simply enjoy one last evening in Paje.
Overnight: Paje
Day 5: Departure
Depending on your departure time, you may have time for breakfast, a final beach walk, coffee or some shopping before checking out.
Your private driver will then transfer you to Zanzibar Airport or the Ferry Terminal for your onward journey.
Your Zanzibar Social Holiday comes to an end.

Why stay in Paje for the whole holiday?
Because the purpose of this itinerary is to experience Paje itself. Rather than changing hotels to chase different excursions, you have one convenient base with beaches, restaurants, cafés and activities around you.
Is this a party holiday?
Not necessarily. Social means having opportunities to go out, meet people, eat at different places and enjoy the atmosphere outside your hotel. You can make the holiday as active or relaxed as you like.
Can I add kitesurfing?
Yes. Paje is particularly suitable for travellers interested in kitesurfing, and we can add lessons or other water activities according to your interests and the conditions during your stay.
Why do you recommend Kae Funk?
It gives you a chance to experience one of Zanzibar’s well known sunset spots outside Paje. We arrange the evening transfer so you can enjoy the sunset without having to organise your own transport.
Can I stay in Nungwi instead?
Yes, but we would create a different Social Zanzibar itinerary around Nungwi. Paje and Nungwi offer different types of social beach experiences, so we would not simply swap one hotel for another and leave the itinerary unchanged.
Can I make this itinerary more relaxed?
Yes. We can remove activities and give you more time to enjoy Paje and your hotel.
