Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Zanzibar and Settle Into Nungwi
Arrive at Zanzibar International Airport or the ferry terminal and meet your arranged transfer to Nungwi, on the northern coast of the island.
After checking in at your beach hotel, the rest of the day is yours to relax and enjoy your surroundings. Depending on your arrival time, you may have time for a swim, a walk along the beach or a drink by the ocean.
Overnight: Beach hotel in Nungwi.
Day 2: Turtle Lagoon, Kendwa Beach and Sunset Dhow Cruise
After breakfast, enjoy the Lagoon Swimming with Turtles experience, offering an opportunity to see and swim near turtles in a lagoon setting.
Later, head to nearby Kendwa Beach. Enjoy a walk along the beach, take in the coastal scenery and spend some time relaxing by the water.
In the evening, experience Zanzibar from the sea on a traditional sunset dhow cruise. Enjoy the changing colours of the sky as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean before returning to shore.
This is the main activity day of the package. The final order and timing of the experiences will be arranged around availability and local operating conditions.

Day 3: A Relaxed Morning and Departure
Enjoy breakfast and some final time at the beach, depending on your departure schedule.
When it is time to leave, your arranged transfer will take you to Zanzibar International Airport or the ferry terminal for your onward journey.

Possible Alternatives
Nungwi is our recommended base for this beach escape, but it is not the only way to enjoy three days in Zanzibar. To give you some ideas, we are sharing here two alternatives for you.
Alternative 1: Stay in Stone Town
Choose Stone Town if you would like to spend more time around Zanzibar’s historic streets, waterfront and cultural attractions.
Your three-day break could include:
- Day 1: Arrive, transfer to your Stone Town accommodation and explore at your own pace.
- Day 2: Visit Prison Island and enjoy a Nakupenda Sandbank excursion, with time to explore Stone Town.
- Day 3: Enjoy breakfast and, depending on your departure time, a little more time in Stone Town before your transfer.
This option brings together island scenery and cultural exploration, with Stone Town as your base.
The order of the boat excursions and time available for exploring the town will depend on departure schedules, sea conditions and your travel times. We will confirm a practical plan before booking.
Best suited to: Travellers who enjoy history, local culture, walking and boat excursions.
Alternative 2: Stay in Paje
If you prefer the southeast coast, we can plan your beach escape around a stay in Paje.
This version combines time on the east coast with visits to Salam Cave and Mtende Beach.
Your holiday could look like this:
- Day 1: Arrive in Zanzibar, transfer to Paje and settle into your accommodation.
- Day 2: Visit Salam Cave and Mtende Beach, with the schedule arranged around travel time and local conditions.
- Day 3: Enjoy the beach before your departure, depending on your transfer time.
This option gives you a different experience of Zanzibar from the northern coast. The practical schedule will depend on the location of your accommodation, the arrangements for each activity and the conditions at Mtende Beach.
